Before the sawdust, there was code. I spent years as a software engineer at Bloomberg, holding an engineering degree and a career most people would call a success. Good salary, good title — and a growing feeling that something was missing.

What I kept coming back to was wood. The weight of it, the grain of it, the permanence of something built by hand. I eventually made the decision that surprised everyone around me: I walked away from a high-paying corporate career to pursue the craft I'd always been drawn to. No safety net — just a belief that work worth doing is worth doing with your hands. And yes — this very website you're reading was designed and built from scratch by me, because old habits die hard.
